Introduction to Industrial Automation Security and the ISA/IEC 62443 Standards (IC32C)

Date: Thursday, 7 November Time: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. CEUs/PDHs: .7

Member: 650.00 USD Community Member/List: 815.00 USD

This course teaches you the basics of the ISA/IEC 62443 standards and how these can be applied in the typical factory or plant. In this class, you will be introduced to the terminology, concepts, and models, as well as the element of creating a cybersecurity management system will be explained along with how these should be applied to industrial automation and control systems.

CyberSensors: Advancements in Automation CyberPhysical Security (IC87C)

Date: Thursday, 7 November Time: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. CEUs/PDHs: .7

Member: 650.00 USD Community Member/List: 815.00 USD

This course presents a substantial change to cyber- and cyberphysical security that is arising in the electric utility SCADA domain. Advances in technology as well as business operation changes are presented with specific impacts on legacy SP95/99 (Purdue Model and zones & conduits) architectures. Modern advances in sensor technology, IT/OT cognizant systems, the latest wireess nd Internet of Things (IoT and Industrial IoT) are layered into the "cybersensors" discussions providing implications for seamless integration into IT security and OT operational systems. Numerous examples o real-world deployments are covered for facilities using supervisory control and acquisition (SCADA) systems.

The activities include the alarm philosophy development, alarm rationalization, basic alarm design, advanced alarm techniques, Human Machine Interface (HMI) design for alarms, monitoring, assessment, management of change, and audit.

An Introduction to Safety Instrumented Systems (EC50C)

Date: Thursday, 7 November Time: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. CEUs/PDHs: .7

Member: 650.00 USD Community Member/List: 815.00 USD

There are many ways of designing a safety instrumented system (SIS). Questions like these are being asked by users and engineering firms alike: Which technology should be used (electric, electronic, programmable)? What level of redundancy is appropriate (single, dual, or triple)? How often should systems be tested (monthly, quarterly, yearly, or once per shutdown)? What about field devices (technology, level of redundancy and test intervals)?

Debate continues at to how one even makes these choices (past experience, qualitative judgement, quantitative analysis, etc.) This seminar will cover the basics of what needs to be done in the design and selection of safety systems.

Note: Registration for training courses is separate from, and in addition to, your conference registration fee.
